Nature's Peace; Gardening

-- Quote of the Day --

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."

~ John Muir

-- Conscious Living Event --

June 5-11… I just learned through the local West Kootenay Advertiser Newspaper that the National Commuter Challenge Week is happening throughout the Kootenays. Columbia Basin Trust (www.cbt.org ) and Osprey Community Foundation (www.ospreycommunityfoundation.ca) are helping to make this possible. The purpose of the event is to challenge businesses and individuals to use more eco-friendly transit (rather than a single driver in a huge truck that seats 6, for instance). Last year the leader ended up being the city of Nelson, BC – Canada *The comedy movie Rosanne with Steve Martin and Darryl Hanna - was filmed there). Incidentally, another community near the Kootenay area also had a film shot there – Greenwood, BC – and the film was titled Snow Falling on Cedars, about the Japanese camps during one of our many wars.

Anyway, you can find out more about the National Commuter Challenge Week at: www.EcoSociety.ca
